THE FOLLOWING RULES APPLY

All forms of motorsport has rules and RC car racing is no different. We all want to enjoy fair racing in a safe environment.
The following rules and guidelines will help you achieve that.

  • BRCA membership must be shown prior to using the venue.
  • If you bring a car to run on the track you pay the track fee on the day. NO IOUs!
  • Respect the drivers, don’t enter or cross the track while racing is taking place.
  • All drivers must wear suitable footwear (NO flip-flops). 
  • Reversing on track is NOT PERMITTED. If possible reverse should be disabled on your ESC.
  • The track is ONE WAY all day regardless of whether racing or practicing.
  • Everybody must attend driver’s briefings at the start of the day.
  • Marshalling will be to an acceptable standard and all marshalls will be in position by the start of the next heat.
  • Marshalls WILL NOT touch a car whilst wheels are turning.
  • All drivers please use track etiquette whilst racing i.e. being passed, rejoining track after crash.
  • Drivers must shout to warn other drivers that they have stopped on straight.
  • Drivers WILL NOT shortcut the track after a crash or other incident.
  • Drivers should not leave the rostrum or marshal post until the race has been called finished.
  • Drivers for the next heat should wait at the bottom of the rostrum until the current race has been called finished.
  • All drivers must change numbers for final and check changes.
  • No transmitters to be turned on in the pits whilst racing is in progress and ABSOLUTELY no driving in the pit area.
  • All Lipo batteries are to be charged in suitable Lipo bags.

RACING GUIDELINES

If you are new to racing please read the following guidelines. This refers to best practice when driving so you and your fellow drivers can enjoy fair racing.

  • If you are following another car, do not force your way through, allow the other car at least one corner to let you pass.
  • If you should unintentionally hit your opponent, the ‘fair play’ thing to do is wait at the nearest available safe place and let him go out in front again.
  • Once you have raced your heat proceed as quickly and safely as possible to the track for Marshalling. The faster you get to the track means you will not keep others waiting and makes the day go quicker.
  • Marshall like you would like to be marshalled. Watch the section of track for problems NOT the race action. No smoking and no mobile phones.
  • No shouting from the rostrum, please try to keep the expletives silent.
  • During qualifying, the rules say you should let the faster drivers pass. That’s only fair. For the finals – it’s racing.
  • This is a hobby! The only important thing is that you have fun.

As a general rule, don’t be afraid to ask (politely).
